It depends on your time and starting point. A 4-day Aswan-to-Luxor sailing suits short trips or those combining a cruise with a wider Egypt itinerary. A 7–8 day cruise from Luxor gives a full, unhurried route with Abu Simbel included. For a longer, more complete journey, our 10–13 day Cairo, Nile & Lake Nasser packages combine the classic route with rarely-visited Nubian temples.
A standard Nile cruise ship carries dozens of cabins and follows a fixed motor-powered schedule. A Dahabiya is a small, traditional sailing vessel with far fewer cabins, a slower wind-and-current pace, and access to quieter moorings and sites — like El Kab and Gebel el Silsila — that larger ships cannot reach.
Every package includes full-board cruise accommodation, a private Egyptologist guide, all entrance fees to listed sites, private air-conditioned transfers, and 24/7 support. International flights, Egypt e-Visa, travel insurance, tips, and personal spending are not included.
Not on every package — check the itinerary for each tour above. Several of our cruises include a guided Abu Simbel excursion from Aswan as standard, and it can be added as an optional extra on itineraries where it isn't included.
October through April offers the most comfortable temperatures for sightseeing. Summer cruises run year-round and can be a good option for travelers who don't mind heat and prefer a quieter Nile.
