Your Hotel in Aswan |
This full-day private tour from Aswan visits Kalabsha Temple and Philae Temple, plus the Nubian Museum and the Aswan High Dam. It runs 8 hours with hotel pickup and drop-off in Aswan. It is the only Aswan day tour that pairs Philae’s Isis Temple with Kalabsha Temple, Egypt’s largest free-standing Nubian temple. If you’re exploring more options, see our Egypt Day Tours Complete Guide for more Aswan experiences.
The day begins with pickup from your Aswan hotel and a private vehicle transfer to Kalabsha Temple on the shore of Lake Nasser. From Kalabsha, a motorboat crossing leads to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island, followed by stops at the Nubian Museum and the Aswan High Dam before the return drive to your hotel.
No other full-day tour from Aswan combines Kalabsha and Philae in the same itinerary, and this is the tour to pair a Nubian Museum visit with the Nile-island temples on a single day trip. For more options, see All Aswan temple day tours.
Only on this route
The only full-day tour from Aswan that pairs Philae's Isis Temple with Kalabsha Temple, combining Egypt's largest free-standing Nubian temple with the Nile-island Temple of Isis in one day trip.

A private vehicle picks you up from your Aswan hotel for a day built around the Philae and Kalabsha Temples, two of Aswan's ancient Nile island temples, driving first to Kalabsha on the shore of Lake Nasser.

Your Egyptologist guide leads you through Kalabsha Temple, an ancient Nubian sanctuary dismantled and reassembled on the shore of Lake Nasser after the High Dam's construction. Reliefs on its sandstone walls honor Mandulis, the Nubian sun god, and combine Egyptian and Roman-era architectural styles.

A private motorboat carries you from Kalabsha across the Nile to Agilkia Island, where the Temple of Isis rises above the water at Philae. Carved pylons and columned courts trace scenes of Isis, Osiris, and Horus across temple walls relocated here to escape submersion under Lake Nasser.

From Philae, your driver continues to the Nubian Museum, where thousands of artifacts trace Nubian history from prehistory through the Lake Nasser resettlement. Exhibits include statues, jewelry, and reconstructed village scenes documenting a culture displaced by the High Dam's construction.

The tour's final stop is the Aswan High Dam, completed in 1970 to control the Nile's annual flood and generate hydroelectric power for the country. Views from the dam take in Lake Nasser, the reservoir created by its construction and the reason both Kalabsha Temple and the Nubian Museum's collections exist in their current form.
