Itinerary

Nile Dinner Cruise
You'll board as the city starts to go dark, the Nile reflecting the lit towers of central Cairo from both banks. The two-hour float covers live Nubian music and a set dinner — it's a useful way to read the city's scale before the full day ahead.

Meals
Dinner

Your Egyptologist guide collects you from the hotel after breakfast the Giza sites come first while the morning light is low and the plateau relatively clear.

The Great Pyramids of Giza
You'll stand at the base of the Great Pyramid and understand immediately why no photograph captures it: the thing is 146 metres of stacked limestone blocks, each one at shoulder height. Your guide will position you for the perspective shot most visitors miss from the southwest corner, all three pyramids in diagonal alignment.

The Great Sphinx
A short walk brings you to the timeless Sphinx, guardian of the Giza Plateau. Capture unforgettable photos and listen to the fascinating legends behind this iconic monument.

Valley of Khafre Temples
You'll walk into one of the oldest standing stone structures in Egypt, the Valley Temple, which dates to 2500 BCE and served as the ritual preparation site for Khafre's burial. The pink Aswan granite walls have no decoration: just mass, weight, and precise cutting that has held for 4,500 years.

The Grand Egyptian Museum
Your guide leads you through the permanent Tutankhamun galleries, where 5,000 objects from his tomb are displayed together for the first time since excavation. The scale model of ancient Memphis near the entrance gives the afternoon a useful context frame before you move into the exhibits.

Meals
Breakfast and Lunch

An early departure from Cairo airport gets you into Aswan before the desert heat builds from there. The drive south to Abu Simbel takes 3.5 hours through an open desert road, arriving at the site while the rock face is still in morning shadow. After the temples, your guide takes you back to Aswan for lunch beside the Nile before an evening flight returns you to Cairo.

Abu Simbel Tour
The four colossal seated figures at the entrance are 20 metres high and carved directly into the cliff face you approach on foot across open ground, and the scale only becomes clear in the final 50 metres. Your guide will take you inside the hypostyle hall, where the axis of the temple is aligned so that twice a year, on 22 February and 22 October, sunlight reaches the innermost sanctuary and illuminates the statues of Ramesses, Ra-Horakhty, and Amun but leaves the statue of Ptah (god of darkness) in shadow.

Meals
Breakfast and Lunch

Private vehicle transfer from your Cairo hotel to Cairo International Airport for your outbound international flight. Check-out is coordinated with your flight time.

Yes, when the itinerary is efficiently planned with domestic flights, private transfers, and expert guides, 4 days is more than enough to explore all the highlights.
This is the only 4-day tour built entirely around flying directly from Cairo to Abu Simbel — Abu Simbel is the destination anchor, not an optional add-on. To see how the route compares to tours starting from Aswan, extend Abu Simbel into a 4-day Lake Nasser cruise.
Abu Simbel is the most complete surviving example of Egyptian rock-cut temple architecture — the two temples were relocated in their entirety in the 1960s to save them from the rising Lake Nasser, and the engineering feat is as remarkable as the original construction. For the full context on what this site offers, prefer a Cairo & Aswan short break instead?
You fly from Cairo to Aswan early in the morning, then travel by private vehicle south to Abu Simbel — approximately 3.5 hours by road. The visit covers both temples before the midday heat peaks, then the drive returns to Aswan for lunch and an evening flight back to Cairo.
