Nearby, the imposing Pyramid of Khafre stands in regal splendor, guarded by the enigmatic Great Sphinx, while the smaller yet remarkable Pyramid of Menkaure highlights the brilliance of ancient engineering. More than 4,500 years later, these awe-inspiring monuments continue to captivate visitors, offering an extraordinary window into one of history's most fascinating civilizations.
Explore the Valley Temple of Pharaoh Khafre, an integral part of his grand funerary complex, which also includes the iconic Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Sphinx of Giza. Constructed around 2570 BCE during Egypt’s Old Kingdom, this temple stands as a remarkable example of ancient Egyptian artistry, combining limestone and granite with masterful precision. Designed for rituals to prepare the pharaoh for his journey to the afterlife, it reflects both spiritual devotion and extraordinary architectural skill. Connected to the Great Sphinx, which vigilantly guards the Giza Plateau, the Valley Temple remains a timeless symbol of the ingenuity and artistic brilliance that define Egypt’s rich heritage.
The Great Sphinx of Giza, built around 2,500 BCE during Pharaoh Khafre's reign, stands as one of history's most iconic monuments. With the body of a lion and the head of a human, it is believed to have symbolized a guardian watching over the Giza pyramid complex. Despite enduring centuries of weathering and damage, it was partially restored by Pharaoh Thutmose IV, who famously placed the "Dream Stele" between its massive paws. Rediscovered in 1817, this enigmatic masterpiece continues to captivate the world, a testament to the ingenuity of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship and a source of awe for all who encounter it.

Head back to your hotel in Cairo and unwind after a day of adventure. Relax in the comfort of your room, recharge for the excitement ahead, and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep in the heart of this lively and captivating city.
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, check out and head to the airport for your flight to Aswan.
When you arrive, you will visit the Aswan High Dam, an incredible engineering project built between 1960 and 1970. This dam was created to control the Nile River’s yearly flooding, which had affected Egypt for centuries. It also provides electricity to much of the country, helping modernize Egypt. You will also see Lake Nasser, a massive artificial lake created by the dam. Named after Egypt’s president at the time, Gamal Abdel Nasser, the lake is one of the largest man made lakes in the world.
Next, you will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, an ancient monument located in Aswan, Egypt. It was ordered during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (around 1478–1458 BCE) and would have been the largest obelisk ever built, standing at an estimated 42 meters tall and weighing over 1,000 tons. Unfortunately, it was abandoned due to cracks appearing in the granite during carving. This site provides fascinating insights into how ancient Egyptians used tools like stone hammers to carve massive structures from granite, showcasing their advanced skills over 3,000 years ago.
Visit the stunning Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, a key figure in ancient Egyptian religion. Built during the Ptolemaic period (around 380–362 BCE), the temple showcases remarkable ancient Egyptian architecture and art. The complex includes shrines, temples, and courtyards filled with history. In the 1960s, it was relocated to Agilkia Island as part of a UNESCO project to save it from flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam. As you explore, your guide will share fascinating stories about its cultural significance and preservation.
After a full day of exploration, you will check into your luxurious cruise ship, which will be your floating hotel for the next few days. Unwind and relax on the deck or enjoy the onboard amenities as you sail down the Nile River.
During your cruise, you will enjoy delicious meals on board the ship. Savor traditional Egyptian cuisine as well as international dishes while taking in the beautiful scenery along the river.
As the sun sets over the Nile, spend your evenings aboard your cruise ship. Relax in your cabin or enjoy traditional Egyptian music and dance performances. Fall asleep to the sounds of the river and wake up to a new adventure each day.
Start your day early with a breakfast box before meeting your private tour guide. Travel comfortably in a private, air-conditioned car for a scenic three-hour journey to the remarkable Abu Simbel Temples.
The Abu Simbel Temples, located on the shores of Lake Nasser in southern Egypt, are among the most remarkable archaeological sites in the world. Built over 3,000 years ago, during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II (1279–1213 BCE), these temples were created to celebrate his victory at the Battle of Kadesh (circa 1274 BCE) and to honor both himself and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The larger temple is dedicated to the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah, alongside Ramses himself, while the smaller temple is dedicated to Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. These massive rock temples remain a powerful testament to ancient Egyptian engineering and the legacy of Ramses II.
After exploring the temples and learning about their fascinating history, return to your cruise ship for a delicious lunch on board. Enjoy the view of Lake Nasser from your private balcony or join fellow travelers in the dining room.
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon on the ship, taking in the scenery or participating in onboard activities. As evening approaches, gather with your travel companions for a sumptuous dinner and entertainment before retiring to your comfortable cabin for the night.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast on board as your ship makes its way to Kom Ombo.
When you arrive, step off and explore the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple, built during the Ptolemaic period around 180–47 BCE. This unique temple is dedicated to two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility and the Nile, and Horus, the falcon-headed god of protection and kingship. Its rare double design reflects this dual dedication, with one side honoring Sobek and the other honoring Horus. The temple was constructed under the rule of Ptolemy VI and later expanded by Ptolemy XII. Don’t miss the ancient carvings and the nearby Crocodile Museum, featuring mummified crocodiles once sacred to Sobek.
As your ship sails down the Nile, enjoy lunch on board before arriving at Edfu. Here, you will explore the incredible Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, built between 237 and 57 BCE during the Ptolemaic period. This temple is dedicated to Horus, the ancient Egyptian falcon god of protection and kingship. It stands as a stunning example of ancient Egyptian architecture, with its towering columns, detailed carvings, and massive gateway. Visiting Edfu Temple offers a glimpse into the rich history and religious traditions of Egypt over 2,000 years ago.
After you visit Edfu, return to the ship for a relaxing afternoon and evening. Enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner on board as you take in the stunning views of the Nile riverbanks.
Spend the night on board your cruise ship, drifting along the tranquil waters of the Nile. Relax in your comfortable cabin.
Begin your day with a satisfying breakfast aboard the ship before disembarking to discover the wonders of Luxor.
Your first stop will be Karnak Temple, one of the largest and most impressive temple complexes in the world. Built over 2,000 years, construction began during the Middle Kingdom around 2000 BCE and continued through the Ptolemaic period. The temple was primarily dedicated to Amun, the ancient Egyptian god of the sun and air, but it also honored his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. Visitors can marvel at its massive columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall, built under Pharaoh Seti I and completed by Ramses II around 1250 BCE, as well as its towering obelisks, which showcase the grandeur of ancient Egyptian architecture.
Next, you will visit the remarkable Hatshepsut Temple, built around 1479–1458 BC for Queen Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt's few female pharaohs. This stunning temple, located at Deir el-Bahari near Luxor, showcases intricate carvings and impressive architecture. Hatshepsut ruled during the New Kingdom (18th Dynasty) and is remembered as a powerful and successful leader who expanded trade and built magnificent monuments.
Take a break from sightseeing and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Try traditional Egyptian dishes or opt for something more familiar.
After lunch, visit the famous Valley of the Kings, the burial site for many pharaohs of ancient Egypt, including King Tutankhamun (who ruled around 1332–1323 BC). Explore several tombs of powerful rulers from the New Kingdom period (1550–1070 BC). See the colorful hieroglyphics that tell stories of the afterlife and learn about burial rituals used to honor these kings. Don’t miss the tomb of King Tutankhamun, discovered in 1922 by archaeologist Howard Carter, which remains one of the most incredible finds in Egyptian history.
Your final stop will be the Colossi of Memnon, two giant stone statues built around 1350 BC. These statues, standing at 18 meters tall, once guarded the entrance to the grand mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, one of ancient Egypt’s most powerful rulers from the 18th Dynasty. Although much of the temple has been lost over time, the statues remain as a reminder of its former glory.
