Itinerary

A Tripidays representative meets you at Cairo International Airport and transfers you by private air-conditioned vehicle to your 5-star Cairo hotel. After checking in and resting, your evening begins aboard a Nile dinner cruise as Cairo's illuminated skyline moves past the windows.

Evening Nile Dinner Cruise
In the evening, enjoy a Nile River dinner cruise, where you’ll savor authentic Egyptian cuisine as Cairo’s skyline sparkles around you. Traditional music and a Tanoura show create the perfect introduction to your Egyptian adventure.

Meals
Dinner

Your guide picks you up after breakfast for a full day on the Giza plateau and at the Grand Egyptian Museum, the two sites that define Cairo for most first-time visitors, on a 6 day Cairo and Nile cruise tour package.

The Great Pyramids
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza (One of the Seven Wonders of the World). Marvel at the ancient architectural feats of the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure, learning about their fascinating history and significance.

Valley of the Khafraa Temples
Step inside one of the few Old Kingdom structures still intact at ground level, used for the ritual purification of Khafre before burial. The granite walls here are 4,500 years old and have never been relocated or reconstructed.

The Great Sphinx
You'll approach the Sphinx from the east, the direction it faces — the same orientation carved into the rock in the reign of Khafre, around 2500 BCE. Your guide will point out the erosion patterns that have made its origins one of archaeology's longest-running debates.

The Great Egyptian Museum
Enter the largest archaeological museum ever built for a single civilisation, housing over 100,000 artefacts, including the complete treasures of Tutankhamun displayed together for the first time. The golden death mask alone draws visitors into a long, unplanned silence.

Meals
Breakfast and Lunch

After breakfast, you'll fly from Cairo to Aswan. Upon arrival, your guide takes you to explore Aswan's most important landmarks before boarding your 5-star Nile cruise. Later in the afternoon, the cruise begins sailing north toward Kom Ombo.

High Dam
You'll stand on the dam wall with Lake Nasser stretching south behind you — a reservoir so large it displaced 100,000 Nubian people when it was filled in the 1960s. Your guide will explain how controlling the Nile's annual flood transformed Egyptian agriculture overnight.

Philae Temple Tour
A short motorboat ride delivers you to the island where the Temple of Isis was dismantled stone by stone and rebuilt on higher ground to save it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Inside, the reliefs of Isis nursing Horus are among the finest carved in the Late Period — still vivid after 2,000 years.

Sailing to Kom Ombo
After lunch on board, relax on the sundeck as your Nile cruise begins its journey northward through Upper Egypt toward Kom Ombo.

Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

This morning, the cruise arrives at Kom Ombo, where your guide leads a visit to one of Egypt's most unusual temples. Afterward, return to the ship and continue sailing toward Edfu.

Kom Ombo Temple
You'll explore the unique double temple dedicated equally to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Its symmetrical design and riverside setting make it unlike any other temple along the Nile.

Afternoon Sailing to Edfu
Return to the cruise and enjoy lunch on board while sailing through the Nile Valley toward Edfu, passing traditional villages and fertile riverbanks along the way.

Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

After breakfast, visit Edfu Temple before continuing the journey north to Luxor. Upon arrival in the evening, you'll explore Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated after sunset.

Edfu Temple
Your guide introduces Egypt's best-preserved ancient temple, dedicated to Horus the Falcon God. Hidden beneath desert sands for centuries, its towering pylons and detailed reliefs remain remarkably intact.

Sailing to Luxor
Spend a relaxing afternoon on board as the cruise sails toward Luxor, passing through the Esna Lock and continuing north along the Nile.

Luxor Temple
Visit Luxor Temple in the evening when its massive columns and statues are dramatically illuminated. Built by Amenhotep III and expanded by Ramesses II, it served as one of ancient Egypt's most important ceremonial centers.

Meals
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

After breakfast and disembarkation, your guide takes you to discover Luxor's legendary east and west bank monuments before transferring you to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Travelers who would like to extend their journey beyond Cairo and explore more of Egypt's ancient treasures may also enjoy our Classic Grand Egypt Tour, which includes additional time in Luxor, Aswan, and a longer Nile cruise experience.

Karnak Temple
Explore the largest religious complex ever constructed in ancient Egypt. The vast Hypostyle Hall, lined with towering sandstone columns, remains one of the most impressive architectural achievements of the pharaohs.

Valley of the Kings
You'll descend into tombs cut directly into the limestone cliffs of the West Bank, where 63 royal burials have been found since excavation began. The painted ceilings in the tomb of Ramesses VI cover every surface with the complete text of two funerary books, a scale of decoration that took years to apply.

Temple of Hatshepsut
Visit the magnificent terraced temple of Egypt's most successful female ruler, dramatically built against the limestone cliffs of Deir el-Bahari.

Colossi of Memnon
Stop beside the two giant statues that once guarded the entrance to the largest mortuary temple in ancient Thebes.

Departure
After your visits, you’ll be transferred to Luxor Airport to catch your flight back to Cairo Airport.

Frequently Asked Questions
This package includes 3 nights on a 5-star Nile motor cruise from Aswan to Luxor, 3 nights in 5-star Cairo hotels, both domestic flights (Cairo–Aswan and Luxor–Cairo), a Nile dinner cruise on Day 1, a private Egyptologist guide, all entrance fees, all road transfers, and meals as specified. It can last 6 days, exploring Cairo’s ancient landmarks and enjoying a relaxing cruise from Aswan to Luxor. However, the duration can also be 7 days if you choose to sail from Luxor to Aswan, allowing for a slightly slower pace and more time to enjoy the Nile.
This is the only mid-range 6-day package that pairs the full Cairo sightseeing programme — Giza plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum — with a continuous Luxor–Aswan motor cruise, without splitting the budget on a luxury tier. No other 6-day package at this price point covers both the Cairo monuments and the complete Aswan-to-Luxor Nile route in the same itinerary.
The Day 1 dinner cruise runs along the Cairo stretch of the Nile in the evening, with a set menu of Egyptian dishes, traditional music, and a Tanoura performance. It is included in the tour price and serves as both a welcome dinner and an orientation — seeing Cairo from the river at night gives a sense of the city's scale that daytime sightseeing alone does not. For Families who prefer a land-based Cairo introduction, can find an alternative pace in the Family Egypt Holiday by Land.
The cruise boards in Aswan on Day 3 and sails north to Luxor over three nights, stopping at Philae Temple and the High Dam in Aswan, Kom Ombo Temple and Edfu Temple en route, and the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, and Karnak Temple on the Luxor west and east banks on Day 5.
