Only on this route

Your Tripidays representative meets you airside with fast-track arrival assistance and transfers you privately to your 5-star Cairo hotel to begin this 10 day luxury Nile cruise Egypt Dendera and Abydos itinerary.

Your first evening is a gourmet dinner on the river, with Cairo's illuminated bridges passing slowly on either side. The food is Egyptian and international; the entertainment is live Tanoura dancers and a small orchestra. It sets the register for the ten days ahead and offers the perfect introduction before you view all premium 10-day Egypt packages designed for luxury travelers seeking a deeper experience of Egypt.

Dinner

Breakfast at your hotel. Your private Egyptologist collects you for a full day on the Giza Plateau and at the GEM before your afternoon returns you to Cairo.

Your Egyptologist walks you through the engineering logic of all three pyramids, Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, explaining the quarrying, the ramp theories, and what the interior chambers tell us about how construction priorities shifted mid-build. The plateau is visited at a private pace, not in a group.

Enter the mortuary temple where Khafre's body was prepared for burial. The polished Aswan granite columns inside were cut to receive the light differently at different hours. Your guide demonstrates why the architects oriented the entrance the way they did.

Discover the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), home to world-renowned artifacts and the treasures of Tutankhamun, displayed with cutting-edge museology.

Breakfast, Lunch

An early flight south to Luxor. Your guide meets you at the airport for a full day on the West Bank. This is the deepest single day in any 10-day luxury Nile cruise itinerary.

Upon arrival, visit the world-famous Valley of the Kings with a private Egyptologist guide, exploring royal tombs of the New Kingdom. Gain insider knowledge about pharaonic life, funerary practices, and hidden hieroglyphics rarely seen by casual visitors.

Experience the awe-inspiring tomb of Tutankhamun, one of archaeology’s most famous discoveries. Your guide provides expert insights into the treasures and the symbolic significance of the artifacts.

Admire the intricate artistry of Ramses VI’s tomb, including celestial ceilings and vivid hieroglyphics, with your guide explaining the spiritual and historical context.

Visit Deir el-Medina to explore the lives of the artisans who built these tombs. Discover how daily life, work, and devotion shaped the creation of Egypt’s most monumental sites.

Explore Medinet Habu, Ramses III’s mortuary temple, renowned for its exceptionally preserved reliefs and grand architecture, offering rare insights into military and religious history.

Discover the stunning Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most remarkable female pharaohs. Explore its terraced design, exquisite reliefs, and learn about Hatshepsut’s reign, monumental building projects, and her unique place in Egyptian history.

End your day with a private visit to the iconic Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that have watched over the Nile for millennia.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

An early departure from Aswan by private vehicle. This is Abu Simbel with a dedicated private guide, not a group convoy.

Explore the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temples, masterpieces carved into solid rock during the reign of Ramses II. Accompanied by your expert Egyptologist, marvel at the colossal statues, intricate reliefs, and the incredible relocation of these temples, an engineering triumph that preserved them for future generations.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Breakfast aboard. This is your final morning on the cruise before flying back to Cairo.

Visit the enchanting Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Experience and appreciate the temple’s relocation history, preserving its beauty for future generations.

Explore the modern engineering marvel of the Aswan High Dam, understanding its vital role in Egypt’s agriculture, electricity, and Nile flood control. Guests who wish to extend their private luxury journey beyond the Nile, combining it with a 5-star Hurghada resort finale, will find that our luxury private Egypt tour with Hurghada resort delivers exactly that: VIP overland access to every major site, then three nights of complete rest on the Red Sea.

Breakfast
* You can let us know if you'd like to customize your tour itinerary to meet your needs. We value your input and aim to accommodate your requirements.
The tour includes 3 nights at 5-star Cairo hotels, 1 night at a 5-star Luxor hotel, 4 nights on a luxury Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan, domestic flights Cairo–Luxor and Aswan–Cairo, a private Egyptologist every day, entrance fees to all named sites including the Royal Mummies Hall, and all meals as specified full board on the cruise, breakfast at hotels, and a gourmet Nile dinner cruise on arrival night.
This is the only itinerary that includes Dendera and Abydos on a dedicated overland day before the cruise boards, plus Deir el-Medina, Medinet Habu, and individually named royal tombs of Tutankhamun and Ramses VI on the West Bank. Standard cruise itineraries bypass all four because reaching them requires overland travel outside the cruise circuit.
Dendera is the Temple of Hathor, the most completely preserved temple complex in Egypt. Its roof, crypts, and astronomical ceiling are all accessible, and the hypostyle hall retains original paint. It sits north of Luxor, outside the standard Aswan-to-Luxor cruise circuit, which is why most itineraries never include it. The famous Dendera Zodiac, the earliest complete star map in ancient Egypt, was originally carved on the roof of the chapel's ceiling.
The cruise runs 4 nights, boarding in Luxor on the evening of Day 4 after the Dendera and Abydos day. It covers Luxor East Bank temples on Day 5, Edfu and Kom Ombo on Day 6, Abu Simbel as a private excursion from Aswan on Day 7, and Philae Temple and the High Dam on Day 8 before the return flight to Cairo. The cruise is a luxury 5-star vessel with elegant cabins, fine dining, a sun deck, and attentive onboard service.
Yes, the Cairo to Luxor flight on Day 3 morning and the Aswan to Cairo flight on Day 8 afternoon are both included in the tour price.
