Your first stop will be at the iconic Abu Simbel temples, built during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II (1279–1213 BCE) in the 13th century BCE. These impressive structures, carved out of a mountainside, were constructed to commemorate Ramses II’s victory at the Battle of Kadesh and to honor the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah. The site features enormous statues of the Pharaoh himself, standing at 20 meters tall, and was relocated in the 1960s to avoid submersion during the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
After exploring the temples, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant to refuel for the rest of your day.
In the late afternoon, you will transfer to the train station for an overnight train ride to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel in Luxor and rest to continue your 6 days Egypt family culture holiday tomorrow.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel before beginning your tour of Luxor, known as an open-air museum, and exploring its incredible sites on both the East and West Banks.
Your first stop in Luxor is the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of ancient Egyptian pharaohs from the New Kingdom (1550–1070 BCE). Here, you'll find the tombs of rulers like Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II. Decorated with intricate wall paintings and once filled with treasures, these tombs were built to ensure a safe journey to the afterlife. Explore their role in Egypt's history.

This impressive mortuary temple, called Djeser-Djeseru (“Holy of Holies”), was designed by her architect, Senenmut, and features intricate carvings and grand architecture that reflect her remarkable reign.
Visit the Colossi of Memnon on your family trip to Egypt. These are two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III from around 1350 BCE. Standing 18 meters tall, they once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple, now mostly destroyed. In Roman times, one statue became famous for its "singing" sound at dawn, linked to the mythical hero Memnon. Discover their rich history and role in ancient Egyptian culture and mythology.
Take a break from touring and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor.
After lunch, visit the Karnak Temple Complex, an ancient site dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Built over 2,000 years, starting around 2000 BCE, it features contributions from pharaohs like Senusret I, Hatshepsut, and Ramses II. Explore the towering columns of the Great Hypostyle Hall, built by Seti I and Ramses II, and admire detailed hieroglyphics depicting historic events and rituals. Your guide will share the stories that make Karnak a key landmark of ancient Egypt.
End your Family Culture Tour with a visit to the Luxor Temple, built around 1400 BCE by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramses II.
