Itinerary

Our Tripidays representative meets you at Cairo International Airport, handles luggage and airport formalities, and transfers you by private air-conditioned vehicle directly to your hotel. No shared shuttles, no waiting for other passengers.

Nile Dinner Cruise
As the light drains from Cairo and the river begins to catch the city's reflection, you board a private vessel on the Nile both banks glowing, the sound of the water replacing the noise of the streets. Your solo-safe table placement is confirmed before you arrive; Egyptian and international dishes come in sequence while a folkloric performance plays out on the lower deck.

Meals
Dinner

Your Egyptologist guide collects you after breakfast for a full day across the Giza Plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum. An evening domestic flight transfers you to Aswan — your base for tomorrow's Abu Simbel day trip.

The Pyramids of Giza
You'll stand at the base, and the scale stops being a number 138 metres of limestone rising from the desert floor, built without the wheel or iron tools, still the largest stone structure on earth. Your guide positions you at the northeast corner where the geometry becomes visible: the four faces aligned to the cardinal points within a fraction of a degree.

Valley Temple of Khafre
Step inside, and the temperature drops. The Valley Temple was cut from Aswan granite blocks fitted so precisely that no mortar was used, and almost none has shifted across 4,500 years. You move through corridors that once held 23 life-sized statues of Khafre, every one of them removed, scattered now across museums on three continents.

The Great Sphinx
Your guide walks you to the ground-level viewing terrace directly in front of the Sphinx, where the full 73-metre length becomes clear, but photographs consistently flatten it. The repair limestone added to the chest in the 1920s is still visibly lighter than the surrounding bedrock; your guide points to the exact line where ancient stone ends and modern restoration begins.

The Grand Egyptian Museum
You enter through the Grand Staircase flanked by 87 statues and artefacts from the reign of Ramesses II, ascending toward the upper galleries. if Travellers interested in exploring Cairo's Christian heritage in greater depth may also enjoy the Coptic Cultural Cairo Tour, which focuses entirely on the city's historic churches, monasteries, and religious landmarks.

Meals
Breakfast and Dinner

An early start from your Aswan hotel, your guide collects you before dawn with breakfast boxes prepared by the hotel. Private vehicle south along Lake Nasser's western bank to Abu Simbel, returning to Aswan in the afternoon. Your first-class train to Luxor departs in the evening.

Abu Simbel Temples
You arrive as morning light strikes the four colossal seated figures across the full facade, each one 20 metres tall, carved from a sandstone cliff the Egyptian government relocated 65 metres uphill between 1964 and 1968 to save it from Lake Nasser's rising waters.

Meals
Breakfast and Dinner

Your guide meets you after breakfast and transfers you across the Nile to the west bank. The morning covers the Valley of the Kings and the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut; the Colossi of Memnon is a final stop before returning to your hotel.

Valley of the Kings
Your guide leads you into three tombs — entry includes KV6 (Ramesses IX), KV11 (Ramesses III), and one additional tomb rotating by season. Inside KV6, the burial chamber ceiling carries the full Book of the Night painted across a curved vault in white, black, and deep blue a complete map of the underworld the pharaoh would navigate after death, still largely intact after 3,100 years.

Temple of Hatshepsut
You approach across open desert, and the three-tiered colonnaded facade rises directly against the Theban cliff face, built into the cliff rather than in front of it, the only Egyptian mortuary temple designed this way.

Colossi of Memnon
The two seated figures of Amenhotep III rise 18 metres from an open field with no enclosure and almost no queue. You can stand at the base and look straight up at close range, which almost no other major site in Egypt allows. Your guide explains why they are still standing in a field rather than inside a temple complex: the mortuary temple they guarded was built on the Nile floodplain and was underwater every year until it simply dissolved.

Meals
Breakfast and Dinner

Your guide collects you after breakfast for the east bank — Karnak Temple in the morning, Luxor Temple in the late afternoon as the light drops. An evening flight returns you to Cairo.

Karnak Temple
Enter through the Avenue of Ram-Headed Sphinxes and your guide slows you down before the Hypostyle Hall — 134 columns packed close enough that the light between them falls in narrow vertical shafts, the tallest columns reaching 23 metres. The scale is disorienting in a way that open-air sites are not.

Luxor Temple Tour
You arrive as the floodlights come on and the ochre stone turns deep amber. This is the specific reason the timing is deliberate. At the entrance gate, one original obelisk of Ramesses II still stands; its pair has been in Paris since 1833.

Meals
Breakfast and Dinner

After breakfast and hotel check-out, your private vehicle transfers you directly to Cairo International Airport for your international departure.
